Who can start a Member Contest?
Anyone in the Guild can start their own contest!
But only members of Glad to Help rank or higher may start a contest that requires an entry fee.

Keep in mind, too, that the Guild will not endorse your contest if it involves buying/raffling and such if you're not a trusted member. Please don't blame us or whine if no one participates in your contest. Members will participate at their own risk and leisure. Your contest must be run entirely by you.

Finally, though member contests are run independently, we do look to make sure that prizes are given out promptly and fairly.

How do I start a Contest?
These contests are often whimsical and pop up when members feel like giving away something they found on the ground. All you have to do is start a topic in the Contests forum! You do not need to ask permission to start your own Contest since it is up to the members themselves to participate at their own risk, though the Council and Moderating team do police the Contests forum to watch out for bad sportsmanship and shady contests.

Here are some things to include in your contest thread: rules and how to enter/play in your contest, the prize(s) to be won, and when the deadline is (if there is one). When the contest is over, you must post the answer/solution to your contest (if there is one) and the winner(s). If no one entered or won, please mention this. If you don't follow up on your contest when it ends, it will seem quite scam-ish, and people might not participate in any future contests you might hold. The Council may also contact you about what happened and to make sure anyone who has contributed to you is reimbursed.

What kind of contest should I run?
I highly suggest you stay away from buying/raffle contests, especially if you're new to the Guild and people don't have a reason to trust you yet. You can go along the lines of our official Guild Contests or be creative and come up with your own idea. Personally, I'd prefer a fresh idea because they add variety and will probably attract more people. How about starting a contest for your Team?

Try not to make the rules or concept too difficult or even too difficult to understand. Keep in mind that a lot of us just kids who want to have fun and not do rules research.

Furthermore, please be aware that the purpose of running a member contest should not be to make neopoints or to gain a profit.

How do I get members to participate?
You can advertise your Contest in your forum signature only. Obviously, the bigger the prize, the more people will notice!

Jellybean - The Randomness Pixie!
Pixie Spotlight
(Jellybean)

Poof! Suddenly a a small pixie comes out of nowhere. She carries a bubble blower... called... The Random Blower!

Esmivida says:

"Adoptables can both enhance and add to an otherwise boring application (when used in moderation!). It's fun to see cute pictures of your dream pets so you can grace them on your lookup. You can even pretend it's your pet's "plushie,"..."
