You've gone through a lot of trouble to help this sweetheart of yours and he/she'e been through heaps more being abandoned and all -- they deserve the bestest darned owner you can find (other than you, of course, hehe)! If you're getting lots of requests for your adoptee, don't be afraid to be choosey. Stay away from those who say nothing but: "Can I have your painted pet?" or "Joukii's real pretty, can I please have it?"
These people really gave that extra mile!
First of all, your pet has a gender. Second of all, he/she has a name. And third of all, where's the love? Do the above requests sound like they actually care about taking care of your pet? Nope!
If you're absolutely tired of getting terrible and insensitive applications, please refer as many people as you can to the Request Evaluators! These lovely people actually help requesting new owners write better applications. They don't actually write any part of the application for them -- just give them advice to make them a lot better (more info here). To see how each person has been helped, search for their username in the public log.
It's also a good idea to do a background check on the person requesting. But remember that some "Newbies" may in fact be oldies on a new account. And who's to say a Newbie can't take good care of your pet? Who's to say that a person not a member of TNO can't be a good owner? (I mostly adopt to non-members because most TNO members foster and aren't looking to adopt anyway.) Why not ask a few questions? Have them take our Pledge of Good Ownership. Check out the pets they already have for clues -- usually, if the person's got well-cared for pets already, they're keepers. You can also check if the person has a well-off shop, plays lots of games (check the scores), gives their current pets nice lookups/petpages, and more. Hunt around for what's important to you.
If you have questions or want to share/see more tips, head to our Fostering Tips forum! Got an application you're unsure is worthy? Post it! (But please leave out the username for privacy purposes.)

So maybe one day i'll pop by and give you a visit; brighten up your day with a letter or two"

"Adoptables can both enhance and add to an otherwise boring application (when used in moderation!). It's fun to see cute pictures of your dream pets so you can grace them on your lookup. You can even pretend it's your pet's "plushie,"..."
