Jul 22, 2008 - Jenn's notes on gelertmom3:
Pet Applied For: Aerliin
Corrected grammar errors, but the applicant was nice enough to run the app through a spellchecker before contacting me. The layout was lovely, as was the applicant's talent for storywriting and roleplaying. One of the sections I felt was unnecessary, but I couldn't think of anything that was necessary that wasn't already included. I tried to give her some ideas, as she mentioned she really wanted advice on improving the content, and I hope she feels that the information I've given her is helpful in some way. |
Jul 21, 2008 - Joy's notes on soccerkid09:
Subject applied for: Roselda
Suggested corrections for mechanical errors. Layout's pretty neat, though I made some suggestions to make it look more balanced. I told him what I've told all the other Roselda applicants: Tons of people are applying for Roselda. Therefore, I suggested he add more detail to his application about Roselda's future stuff. Also suggested him to doublecheck the rules page for the questionnaire.

Jul 21, 2008 - Joy's notes on inuzukajessi:
Subject applied for: Kuw
Corrected grammar problems. I think she's made a great start with her application. Now all she needs to do is write the extras. She has tons of items in the gallery for Kuw, even a petpet Cofferling, but her application talks little about what she's placed in the gallery. I suggested how to fix that. |
Jul 18, 2008 - Joy's notes on rhoxarie:
Subject Applied For: Roselda
I'd say that this is a very convincing application. Her answers to the questionnaire were very detailed, and the question-answer format was very convenient to the reader (me). She's set up a personality, backstory, family, etcetera for Roselda, so every subjective subject has been covered. All I could to suggest for her was to offer the materialistic stuff: create a prettier looking layout for the petpage-application, make dedications, build a gallery-of-future-items...you know. |
Jul 15, 2008 - Joy's notes on michellejkittie:
Subject Applied For: Mathieau
Overall, she did a wonderful job with her application. I enjoyed the layout's color theme, and the actual layout looked great through IE (it's warped on FF though). She's created everything from back-stories to neorooms. She really fleshed out Mathieau's character and her dedication to him is genuine. I had nothing else to suggest to her except to read over the application again in case she wanted to change anything. |
Jul 15, 2008 - Joy's notes on ellazella:
Subject Applied For: Xanderphal
She took the optional route and made a petpage application, though the layout was very simple. I directed her to a HTML help site. Overall, the application should be fine considering that the foster's current owner said that she'd base her decision on the applicant's accounts and activities. However, I felt that Ella should talk more about Xanderphal in her application and I told her that. Caught and corrected mechanical errors. |
Jul 13, 2008 - Jenn's notes on caseyh99:
Pet Applied For: Seiiya
Corrected mechanical errors. Suggested that the applicant refer to the foster parent by a nickname, not the username, and discussed multiple ways to make custom layouts with minimal html knowledge. The sections about why the applicant wants Seiiya and the plans were underdone, so I commented on what questions should be answered there. I also urged her to add more about the personality. An okay start, but a few minor changes would go a long way. |
Jul 13, 2008 - Jenn's notes on danielly90:
Pet Applied For: Alademuerte
Corrected mechanical errors. A good application, but I felt that some things were missing. If the application was a house, the foundation and exterior design were well-constructed, but on the inside there was little decoration or furniture. To be more specific, I suggested ways to strengthen proof of plans, and I also very adamantly urged her to expound further on the personality and tie up loose ends. |
Jul 12, 2008 - Joy's notes on trickybever:
Subject Applied For: Koringe
Caught and fixed grammatical errors. She included a short story and background story for Koringe, but I felt that this was not enough (Koringe is an unconverted Grey Uni). I told her this and made some suggestions on how she could improve her application. Of course, dedications to Koringe were on the top of my list of suggestions. |
Jul 01, 2008 - Jenn's notes on mustangrrrl:
Pet Applied For: Roselda
Corrected mechanical errors. I suggested some ways to liven up the layout and simultaneously show the artistic skills that she wants to take full advantage of with Roselda. Also suggested taking the Pledge. Most of my comments were based on wording and on providing proof of her intentions with Roselda. Good application, but a few small touches can really show off her full range of talents and make her more believable. |
Jun 30, 2008 - Jenn's notes on vanitysinbaby:
Pet Applied For: Kaelinnara
Since her dream pet is a Poogle, she just made a simple form for any Poogle and asked me to evaluate it. Over a number of neomails we discussed how this is not a good thing to do and how to make an application personal to a pet (personality, backstory, etc), and I'm happy to report that she took some of my suggestions to make a much more unique application. |
Jun 21, 2008 - Joy's notes on blueberrieflame:
Subject applied for: Everlies
The layout is awesomely cool! However, some font colors faded into the background, so I let blueberrieflame know about that. I caught a few mechanical errors and suggested she read over her application to refine it. Because this application is for an unconverted grey scorchio, it has to be the best of the best, so I suggested she add more to the application. She knows what I suggested. ;P |
Jun 21, 2008 - Joy's notes on sidneykitty:
Subject applied for: Mythologique
I evaluated the application before the layout was completed, but I believe that the finished product will look great. It is evident that sidneykitty put a lot of effort into this application, from requesting for fanart to creating backstories, etc. Suggested that she filled up her future plans more and remove the "Why Not Me" section because it was unnecessary. ;P
Overall, I think she may have a chance. |
Jun 19, 2008 - Jenn's notes on loveriotxx:
Pet Applied For: Charmiann
Almost no mechanical errors to correct. A main feature of her plans was writing stories about him, and her obvious dedication to his personality in the multiple, well-developed, and original stories already in the application was very impressive. I made a few minor comments about the aethestics of the app, but the layout is also very cute. I think Lucky the Leprechaun would agree with me that this was a beautiful application and a true pleasure to evaluate. |
Jun 18, 2008 - Joy's notes on k0tteh:
Subject Applied For: Ellesyn
A decently lengthy application. Clearly, k0tteh put a lot of effort into creating and writing the back-story for Ellesyn, and Elle's character is refreshingly unique. I suggested some changes in the "Plans for Elle" section, and I also suggested a few changes in spelling and grammar. |
Jun 14, 2008 - Jenn's notes on illson213:
Pet Applied For: Roselda
Corrected mechanical errors and suggested small changes in the layout. She filled out a questionnaire, and I suggested also copying the questions for the foster parent's convenience. I also reminded her that a lot of people will apply (Roselda is royal), and I suggested some ways to provide better proof and to make the app stand out. For example, she said she'd BC Roselda, but she had no art examples. Overall, good, but I think she could make it really sparkle with a few minor changes, and so far she seems very responsive to my suggestions. |
May 16, 2008 - Joy's notes on iluvpickachu:
Subject Applied for: Xantia888
There's nothing wrong with neomail applications, but this one was really short. I suggested that iluvpickachu make the neomail less generic and customize the pledge of good ownership. |
May 10, 2008 - Jenn's notes on buddagrl:
Pet Applied For: Fiddling
This user had already sent in her lengthy neomail application but wanted me to expound on her chances of receiving the pet. Overall it was nicely done, but I urged her to discuss in more depth the personality, as she'd already created personalities for her current pets and seemed to enjoy that very much. It was nice to see a well-done neomail application that was more than just a few sentences. |
May 10, 2008 - Jenn's notes on lwfoster:
Pet Applied For: Keese
Corrected a lot of mechanical errors, including about six times where the pet's name was spelled wrong. I mentioned an easy way to improve the layout (just a background with text and a few adoptables), but my main concern was a lack of personality and a lack of distinct plans for the pet. The user said he liked to roleplay, yet this was not included in the plans. I suggested multiple ways to make the character come to life, and I hope the user is inspired by a suggestion or two. (: |
Jan 20, 2008 - Jenn's notes on neomillionare101:
Pet Applied For: reraneni
Corrected spelling and grammar errors. A lot of what the applicant said was unclear or unexplained; I gave the analogy of doing math homework. You copy the original problem onto the paper, then solve in steps to get the final answer. The applicant only wrote the final answer, which is rather meaningless without the other parts. I also discussed basic html and layout-creating with the applicant, who seemed not to know basic coding despite the fact that she says she works at a graphics site. Finally, to help me explain myself to her, I directed her to a plethora of html guides and application guides (including Freesong's amazing guide).
/end of shameless plug- we'll miss you, Freesong!

"Adoptables can both enhance and add to an otherwise boring application (when used in moderation!). It's fun to see cute pictures of your dream pets so you can grace them on your lookup. You can even pretend it's your pet's "plushie,"..."
