You've made a difference in a darling little pet's life, and you should feel proud -- Tiavi gives you two paws up! Even if it didn't quite go as planned, your adoptee was uber-lucky have been rescued from a horrible place and given a wonderful home with you.
You can also search the Hall to see how many pets a member has adopted out. Don't forget to send your congrats (and maybe a thank you gift, hehe)! :)
