Take A Whack!

by DudeOfBruces99

So, you are perusing the games arena as you enter the action section. You come down the hallway, seeing many doors that appeal to you. You finally come to a shiny gold one, with big black letters reading: WHACK-A-STAFF-MEMBER.

You ask me: “Why in the world would I want to Whack our good friends TNT?” I laugh because this is such a common question. “Why wouldn't you?” You ponder for a second and then say: “I dunno.”

I turn around you. “Who didn't answer your editorial last week?” You think: “TNT. But that's not all the reason to whack-” “Who didn't get you that Faerie Paintbrush you wanted, as you sat at your neohome and cried?” “TNT. But, I guess they really didn't realize,” “And who?! Was it that didn't send you your 994 neopoint sum after your score was being ‘reviewed'?” And then you realize that this was the final straw! You shove the door open and you come into a room with a high ceiling and a plasma screen against a yellow wall. You sit on a cushion with a big mallet on it and you sit on it, with your legs crossed Indian Style.

“Okay, I'm ready for this!” You grr and you sit up. The game begins and you end up getting a score of...25! Well, that's about 8 neopoints. Well, would you like to learn only the best tips about how to get neopoints in the 5 and 6 hundreds from this game? Would you like to become a Grand Master? Would you like to even win a trophy in one of the trickiest games in Neopia. Sit back, pay attention, and read on:

TIPS/STEPS

Before we begin though let me clear a few things up about the game. You will have 30 seconds per game in which you will need to accumulate 75 points. This may sound hard, but with some of the values of the staff members, you can get to your goal.

  1. Relax. Don't get to tense. Your fingers, towards the later levels of the game will need to do a lot of moving swiftly. Get at ease from the top.
  2. Turn the volume off. This is not a big one, but if you get easily distracted, it would be helpful. In the game, the loud klonks from your mallet can be slightly distracting. Even worse, our wonderful staff say very distracting, funny things like, “I'm gonna eat your socks!” while you play the game, for a little example. If you think these will take you from your real purpose( to whack the faces, right guys?), then don't keep it on.
  3. Don't get used to the little red cross. Okay, once you begin your game, there is a little red cross on your mallet. Use it, and forget about it. Don't depend on it to whack. It's important that you know how to hit and where to hit(see #4) and that you not get used to this little cross.
  4. How do you hit, and where do you hit? Yes, two big vital questions. How do you hit? Simply by pressing the left mouse button. No matter how hard you tap it, it will have the same impact on the staff member. Basically, you will not get extra points if you tap harder or less if you tap easier. Where do you hit?  The little red cross helped you get used to this. Try hitting them in the head area. Don't hit them too low. Also, important: Don't hit the neopets! They will deduct 10 points from your score.
  5. Never stop at the amount needed for the next level. If you can go on, go on! Remember, the more you points you get, the more neopoints.
  6. Knowing who to whack. This is essential. Once you know the game well, you'll know just how many points each player is worth. Yes, mostly everyone in the game is worth a different. Well, I'll tell you two I know off the bat. I know Number Six is worth 2 points and Poptart is worth 20. If they were standing side by side, which one would you go for? There are also others in the game worth 15, 12, and 10. Keep good eyes on them, once you get in the swing of things.
  7. Moving your hand quickly. Yes, this is where a lot of Neopians get in trouble. In all levels, pounce on any figure you see(except of course, our beloved Neopets). Put all attention on the game and have a good, sturdy grip on the mouse. And then, just as quickly as you can, glide your mouse(the mallet is your cursor) towards where you want to hit. That's all it takes!
  8. Additional tips and hints:
    1. Don't panic. If it makes you worried, don't look at your score and how much you need. Just keep an eye on the clock and whack!
    2. Don't send if you have a score less than about 1200. Yes, it may sound hard, but if you just follow my guide, you'll be good.
    3. Don't give up with this game. Yes, it may be annoying, but it's a great game so if you don't get what you want the first time, just keep trying!
    4. Never hesitate. Just know. Only stop when you're deciding who is worth the largest amount, and then hit quick.
    5. Unfortunatly, the game has no pause button. If your telephone rings, I recommend somebody at home getting it. This is all the more reason you need to pay attention and stay focused, because you can't have breaks or pauses.
    6. Practice, practice, practice! Always try to get aim at it's sharpest and reactions at their quickest and always try to keep your hand at ease.

Now you think for a minute: “Hmm. This game isn't bad after all!”

I'm going to go fill up my bank account by playing Whack-A-Staff-Member. I suggest you do the same! Remember all my tips for you, and you'll be sure to get an awesome score. Good luck everyone!
